Putin offers former Deputy PM Rogozin to head Roscosmos
STRELNA, St. Petersburg, May 24 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday offered former Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin to become the CEO of state space corporation Roscosmos.
“I will do everything possible and necessary to justify your trust,” Rogozin said.
Rogozin has been the deputy prime minister in charge of the military-defense industry for the past seven years.
Previously, several sources in the space industry told PRIME that Rogozin may become the CEO of Roscosmos, while the current CEO Igor Komarov may leave for a position in state industrial corporation Rostec. Sources also said that the government planned to create a rocket construction holding basing on missile system producer Almaz-Antey, Tactical Missiles Corporation, and Roscosmos.
